The TAS Auscam Hoochie is a lightweight field shelter based on the simple hoochie or hutchie concept used by Australian and other military forces. The flat shelter can be configured as an overhead cover or improvised bivouac shelter, with its low-profile design making it practical for field use, camping and cadet activities. The Auscam pattern also provides a distinctly Australian military appearance.
Hoochies have a documented history with the Australian Army. An Australian War Memorial example from the Vietnam War period records an army-issued nylon hootchie/groundsheet used as an improvised one-person tent or groundsheet, with press studs allowing shelters to be joined together.

If you have a change of mind or order the wrong item, you will need to return it to us within 7 days of delivery for an exchange or refund.
