Freyr is a modern interpretation of the classic Viking bearded axe, combining historical styling with contemporary materials and construction. Designed by renowned custom knifemaker Elmer Roush, the Freyr is equally at home splitting kindling around camp, processing firewood, clearing trails or serving as a striking addition to a historical or bushcraft collection.

The broad bearded axe head allows the user's hand to grip close behind the cutting edge for improved control during carving, shaping and detailed woodworking tasks. Forged from hot-forged 1055 carbon steel, the blade delivers excellent toughness and impact resistance, making it well suited to repeated chopping and outdoor use. The Tennessee hickory handle provides a comfortable, natural grip while effectively absorbing vibration during heavy strikes.

A durable leather blade sheath is included to protect the cutting edge during storage and transport. Combining traditional Viking-inspired aesthetics with practical field performance, the Freyr is a capable tool for bushcraft, camping, historical enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers.

Shipping charges are calculated based on the delivery method you choose. Charges are based on the rate we are charged by your chosen carrier. We do not add a handling charge. If you have a change of mind or order the wrong item, you will need to return it to us within 7 days of delivery for an exchange or refund.

Orders received before 8am (Melbourne time) will be shipped same business day. All orders received after this time will be shipped next business day.

Most orders are dispatched from our Melbourne Warehouse location, however your order may be dispatched directly from the manufacturer or one of our business partners.
